ChemChina, Blackstone in $3.1bn Nufarm buy

Hong Kong: China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina) and Blackstone Group are teaming up to potentially pay more than A$3.4 billion ($3.1 billion) for Australian farm chemicals group Nufarm Ltd, a source familiar with the deal told Reuters on 2 November.
The source, confirming a report in the Australian Financial Review, added that Merrill Lynch was advising ChemChina and Citigroup Inc was advising Nufarm on a deal. Nufarm said on 1 November it had got a letter tied to earlier takeover talks.
