New Delhi: Former vice president of Boeing India Vivek Lall who quit the American manufacturer last month after 14 years is likely to join Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd, according to three people direct related to the matter.
He is expected to take over as one of the chief executive officer and president in the group, according to one of the people cited above who declined to be identified.
Lall who studied mechanical engineering from Canada’s Carleton
University and a master’s in aeronautical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida and has worked with Raytheon and NASA Ames Research Center before joining Boeing in 1996.
In March, Boeing Co. had said that Lall will be moving on to pursue his own interests.
A RIL spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.
Another person cited above, who too did not wish to be named said Lall was expected to move on from the firm and had discussed the matter earlier this year.
Reliance made investments in the cargo airline space last year. On
16 April, Reliance Industries announced investment in Captain G.R Gopinath’s cargo airline venture Deccan 360 as a “strategic investor”.
The investment in Deccan 360 was made by a wholly owned subsidiary of
Reliance Industries Ltd. Ambani had said the ”collaboration with Deccan
360 will see a transformation in the logistics domain in India”
