HT Media reports 12% rise in profit

HT Media Ltd, publisher of Hindustan Times, Mint and the Hindi daily Dainik Hindustan, said its first quarter profit rose 12% on the back of increase in advertising revenue at its flagship brands.
Net income rose to Rs34.20 crore for the three-month period ended 30 June 2007, up from Rs30.6 crore a year earlier, the company informed the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai. Sales rose 15% to Rs284 crore from Rs248 crore in the year-ago period.
HT Media launched its financial daily Mint (of which www.livemint.com is a part) simultaneously in Delhi and Mumbai, and also launched a tabloid Metro Now in partnership with Bennet Coleman and Co, the publishers of The Times of India.
