New Delhi: Bharti Airtel has become the first Indian telecom firm to cross the the four-million subscriber mark in Delhi.
At present, Airtel has extensive network of cell sites across Delhi and NCR and plans to increase them by over 26% in FY09.
“The four-million milestone speaks volume of the trust that our customers have in the Airtel brand. This achievement is a testimony of our ability to offer innovative and affordable services like Super Lifetime, reduced STD and roaming tariffs as we move forward,” Airtel Delhi circle (Mobility) CEO Shashi Arora said.
Bharti Airtel, which is the largest telecom service provider in India, has a subscriber base of 64.26 million, of which 61.98 million are mobile customers.
The mobile business of Bharti Airtel provides mobile and fixed wireless services using GSM technology across 23 telecom circles.
