Zee Entertainment to be Jaipur Litfest’s title sponsor
The title sponsorship at the Jaipur Literature Festival is estimated to be Rs5-7 crore a year
New Delhi: Leading broadcaster Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) has been named as the title sponsor for the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) for a period of three years, the company said on Wednesday.
“The ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival association further strengthens our endeavour in creating compelling and engaging story telling for our viewers," Punit Goenka, managing director and chief executive of ZEEL, said in a statement.
The organisers of the literary festival welcomed the support from Zee Entertainment.
“Their support will allow us to keep the Festival open to all, whilst bringing a wealth of world class talent to Jaipur each year. We look forward to a strong partnership as the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival," said Sanjoy K. Roy, producer of the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival.
The seventh edition of the festival will have speakers from the literary world, including Jonathan Franzen, Jhumpa Lahiri, Amartya Sen, Harold Varmus, Tash Aw, Samantha Shannon and Reza Aslan.
The title sponsorship at JLF is estimated to be Rs5-7 crore a year, according to media buyers, who declined to be named.
“It’s an interesting brand association; Jaipur is an important geography for any general entertainment channel. This brand tie-up could have a good impact for ZEE as you are talking to the influencers of society nationally as well as globally," said Manish Porwal, managing director of Alchemist, a marketing and talent solutions company.
In the past, property developer DSC Ltd. has sponsored the Jaipur Literature Festival since 2006.
