Mumbai: KEC International Ltd has bagged a Rs1.6 billion order from National Thermal Power Corporation’s Electric Supply Company Ltd (NESCL) in Jharkhand.
The order, the company’s second in the state from NESCL, involves rural electrification on turnkey basis.
“KEC’s scope of work covers electrification of 1,454 villages, providing approximately 200,000 BPL service connections and 14 new augmentation sub-stations,” it said.
The order is scheduled to be executed by December 2009.
Shares in the company rose to a high of Rs520 each on the news but soon eased to Rs513, still up 1.62%.
