Reliance launches international roaming with Jamaican company for WC

New Delhi: Ahead of Cricket World Cup, Reliance Communications on 11 March announced the launch of international roaming with Oceanic Digital, the leading CDMA operator in Jamaica.
“The Reliance customers will be able to make local and incoming calls from Jamaica at the rate of Rs 16 per minute while international call to India and rest of world will cost Rs 48 per minute,” Reliance officials told PTI.
With the initiation of this bilateral roaming agreement with Oceanic Digital, Reliance Mobile has become the first CDMA operator in India to offer international roaming in Jamaica.
The facilities will be available to all its post paid customers travelling to Jamaica for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Championship, starting on 13 March, the officials said adding the customers will be able to stay connected using the same mobile number both in India and Jamaica.
S.P. Shukla, President Reliance Communications, said, “The roaming call, both to and from India, have been priced very attractively as compared to roaming offers from other cellular operators. It will also help in promoting the growing business relationship with the business community in Jamaica.”
To activate the roaming service, the Reliance customers will need to visit Reliance Communications outlets in their respective areas.
