Mumbai: Leading telecom services provider, Vodafone Essar has slashed its roaming rates for pre-paid and post-paid customers under its two schemes—Travel Plan and Ticket Plan, across the country.
Under the Travel Plan, customers can avail roaming rates at 70 paisa per minute while the Ticket plan offers 1.5 paisa per second.
These plans will be valid when customers latch on to the Vodafone network while roaming in the country, a press release issued here said.
Prepaid customers can purchase the Travel Plan and Ticket Plan by recharging with Rs61 and Rs62 bonus cards respectively. These plans carry a validity of 365 days from the date of recharge.
The retail price of bonus cards could be different from circle to cicrle, the company said.
Postpaid customers can opt for the Rs299 Travel Plan or the Rs299 Ticket Plan for the new per minute and per second roaming tariffs respectively.
In addition to the 70 paise a minute national roaming rate, the Rs299 Travel Plan offers a rate of 50 paise per minute for local and STD calls and 175 minutes on local and STD calls per month.
Similarly, in addition to the roaming rate of 1.5 paise per second, the Rs299 Ticket Plan offers a rate of 1 paise per second for local and STD calls and 10,000 local and STD seconds per month.
“Both the Travel Plan and Ticket Plan offer simplicity to our customers by introducing flat rates across categories, and the power to choose either the minute or the second pulse rate option, based on their preference,” Vodafone Essar, chief marketing officer, Kumar Ramanathan said.
Vodafone Essar has operations across the country with over 85.82 million customers.
