New Delhi: Software services firm HCL Technologies Ltd on Tuesday reported a 3.3% rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter to March while revenue rose 23.3%, it said.
HCL Tech earned a profit of Rs 3.43 billion in the quarter from Rs3.32 billion a year ago, while revenue rose to Rs19.45 billion from Rs15.77 billion.
Margin on earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortisation fell to 22.3% from 23.3% a year ago. It also signed deals worth $500 million during the quarter, it said in a release.
The company reported foreign exchange loss of $271 million during the quarter compared to a gain of Rs418 million in the year ago quarter.
During the Jan-March period, HCL Tech added 1,848 employees while its active client-base rose by 13 to 269 clients. Its shares closed up 6.78% at Rs246 on the BSE.
