New Delhi:Turner Broadcasting System Inc. and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., companies of Time Warner Inc., on Wednesday announced the launch of a Hollywood entertainment channel for India called WB. The new 24-hour pay channel, to go on air from 15 March, will telecast English motion pictures and hit television series licensed from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
The channel, which will be available on both direct-to-home and CAS platforms, is targeted at the upwardly mobile class between the age group of 15-44. Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific president Steve Marcopoto said the company is increasing investments and expanding its footprint with the new channels. Marcopoto said India is the company’s biggest market in the Asia-Pacific region.
