New Delhi: Ebrahim Alkazi, well known theatre professional has joined seven year old Osian’s – Connoisseurs of Art, as an independent director.
The Board of Directors includes Ashok Alexander, director, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (India); Lord Meghnad Desai. economist and member of house of Lords, UK; Pramit Jhaveri, India head, Citigroup Investment Bank; Cyril Shroff, managing partner, Amarchand Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff; Sanjeev Khandelwal, MD, Khandelwal Laboratories; Gautam Thapar, MD & vice chairman, Ballarpur Industries; Aruna Vasudev, film historian and activist; Kirti Trivedi, professor-industrial design centre, IIT), Pulak Prasad, founder and MD, Nalanda Capital and Neville Tuli , founder-chairman, Osian’s.
Ebrahim Alkazi was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. He was founding director of the National School for Drama in New Delhi between 1964 and 1977. Known for bringing in a new sense of realism and purpose to Indian drama, he is credited with having taught drama to Naseeruddin Shah, Raj & Nadira Babbar, Om Puri, Rohini Hattangady and Manohar Singh, well known television and film actors.
As part of the ongoing expansion at the senior management level, Meena Hingorani too joins Osian as head, Art Advisory Services division.
