Omnicom Group company BBDO India has appointed Sandipan Bhattacharya and Manoj Deb as executive creative directors. The two were earlier senior creative directors at Grey Worldwide and have worked as creative partners for around 11 years.

Said Josy Paul, chairman, BBDO India: “I liked their Orbit White doctor and cow commercial. When somebody has this kind of a range in talent, the creative elasticity of the entire team is very good. It will help BBDO explore both traditional and non-traditional areas of brand building.” The duo has worked on brands such as Hyundai Santro, Haier, Maruti Wagon R, Aviva Life Insurance, Suzlon, and Wrigley’s Doublemint.
L.S. Krishnan, president, Clear Media Pvt. Ltd, which runs New Delhi-based radio station Hit 95 FM , is moving to OMS (the media arm of Mudra Group), say media buyers who do not wish to be identified. They add that he will be in charge of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-Adag) media account at OMS. Krishnan declined to comment.
Media Contacts, the Havas digital media network, has hired digital specialist Rajeev Bala as regional director for Asia. Bala, who was with search specialist firm Demand, will report to Vishnu Mohan, Asia Pacific CEO of MPG, Media Contacts’ sister media agency. Prior to this, Bala was with Starcom IP and Euro RSCG, where he ran the Dell business for South Asia. Based in Singapore, he will run Media Contacts’ South-East Asia operations, as well as oversee research and business development across the region.

Media Contacts has also appointed Kushal Sanghvi as managing director for its India operations. His last position was with R-Adag. Sanghvi has spent more than 13 years in media and crafted India’s first interactive and reality television show, ‘Indian Idol’, for Fremantle Media Ltd, introducing telephone revenue (from SMSes) in the segment. Sanghvi has been in the digital space since 1997, and was a founder member of Internet portal Rediff.com. Said Anita Nayyar, CEO, Havas Media, India: “Getting Kushal on board makes Media Contacts a full service digital agency leveraging Havas Media’s fantastic knowledge and depth of digital experience for Indian clients.”
