Mumbai: Organisers of Mumbai and Pusan film festivals have signed an agreement to collaborate more closely and build a strong network among Asian film communities.
At the ongoing Berlin Film Festival, Srinivasan Narayanan, Festival director of Mumbai Film Festival and and Lee Yong-Kwan, Pusan’s Festival director, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen artistic, financial and educational exchanges between the two festivals, a statement issued by Mumbai Film Festival said on Friday.
Mumbai Film Festival, organised by Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) is a Reliance Entertainment Ltd. initiative which is the flagship media and entertainment arm of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
The Pusan International Film Festival is widely regarded as Asia’s most important and influential film event; its 16th edition is scheduled from 6-14 October , with its Asian Film Market to be held between 10 and 13 October.
Mumbai festival overlaps Pusan Festival in 2011 as the dates of its 13th edition announced recently are 13-20 October.
