Mumbai: As part of ongoing changes in Rediffusion|DYR comes the announcement of two top-notch advertising professionals from the creative field.
Coming on board, as chief creative officers of the agency are Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar and Ramanuj Shastry.
Prior to joining Rediffusion | DYR as chief creative officer (CCO), Sagar was Group creative director at Ogilvy. He started his advertising career with O&M Bangalore and in his 14-year stint, won numerous national and international awards.
His creative on the Marlboro advertisement for passive smoking for Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) won him a Gold Lion in the Press and Poster Category at the Cannes International Advertising Festival 2002.
Sagar was responsible for doing the creatives for Tata Safari, Tata Sumo, SBI Life Insurance, Star TV Network including KBC, Bank of India, Amaron Batteries, Playwin, ICICI Prudential (Mutual Funds), United Healthcare Insurance, Principle Mutual Fund, WWF, DHL and CISCO.
The second key appointment at the agency is that of Ramanuj Shastry who has taken over as CCO - Rediffusion|DYR. Coming from Ambience where he was national creative director, he has to his credit more than 20 national and international awards, including a New York Festival Bronze for Band-Aid press and an ABBY Gold for a Castrol film.
Shastry started his career with Ogilvy & Mather in 1994 and worked on brands like Virgin Atlantic, Chlormint, Stayfree (J&J), Coca-Cola, Saffola, NDTV India, Radio Mirchi, UTI, among others.
At O&M, he was instrumental in putting together campaigns of Castrol, British Airways, World Gold Council, Jai and Moti Soaps. Post O&M, he was a Senior Creative Director at McCann Erickson.
Commenting on these two key appointments, Mahesh Chauhan, president, Rediffusion|DYR said, “ I have personally worked with both Sagar and Ramanuj, though at different stages of my career, but I can vouch for their capabilities. I look forward to seeing their collective creative geniuses transform our creative product.”
Why two CCOs is a question that is being put to the agency. The answer according to Chauhan is simple, “It is humanly impossible for a large agency to have one CCO to handle all clients with justice. We want every client of ours to get a share of the CCO’s time and not just the key ones, as happens in most agencies.”
The agency is gung ho about having a winning team with Arvind Mohan leading the strategic product teram and the creative team being led by Sagar and Shastry.
