Google’s Gmail unveils unified email for Android users
Now the users can view emails from all their integrated email IDs in one place, irrespective of whether they are using Outlook, Yahoo! mail account
New Delhi: In its last major update in November, Google had introduced the ability to sign-in with multiple accounts in the Gmail app for Android devices. The popular email app has recently received another major update, which offers multiple new features.
First, users can view emails from all their integrated email IDs in one place, irrespective of whether they are using Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo! mail account. The second feature is the support for Conversation View for all accounts. This means emails with multiple replies will appear as a single thread rather than clutter the inbox with several separate messages. This feature, useful for power users, was already available for Gmail accounts, but is now being extended to non-Gmail accounts too.
The third feature is the better handling of attachments — users will now see larger attachment previews with the mail, and can save with a single tap to their Google Drive cloud storage.
Google will be rolling out this update, available for free, over the next few days. If an app update notification hasn’t already popped up on your phone, you can go to the Play Store app and manually check for the newer version. No word yet on when these features will be available on the iPhone.
