Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan’s charm doesn’t seem to be workin g on the small screen. The show hosted by Khan on general entertainment channel Star Plus, Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 (KBC3), continued to register a decline in its viewership for the third consecutive week. Television rating points (TRP) for the third week came out last week. The show began with a TRP of 8.41 and then declined to 7.56 and finally on February 15, it closed at 8.67.
The average TRP for the opening week was 9.85, which fell to 9.05 in the second week. The average TRP for the third week wass 8.33. However, the drop is not as drastic when compared to KBC–2, which was hosted by legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. Media professionals have pegged the anticipated TRP ratings of the show between 8 and 10, which places the third week’s number on the lower side of expectations. The decline in viewership is definitely not a good news for the channel, which has been under pressure ever since the programme was launched on 22 January. Advertisers had already started clamouring for a cut in advertising rates for the show.
