Nagpur: UFO Moviez, the world’s largest digital satellite cine network will screen DLF IPL 2010 Cricket matches live on gigantic screen in cinema theatres across the country, the company said on Tuesday.
The matches will be screened in high definition digital format without any commercial interruptions and also it would enhance the revenues of the multiplexes and single theatres and revenue collection to the government in the form of entertainment taxes, strategic advisor, Charuhas Satam, told a press conference, on Tuesday.
He said UFO which has more than 1,700 digital screens across India and has tied up with Crown Infotainment who holds the distribution rights for IPL 2010 to introduce IPL matches in theatres. So far, 550 screens including 200 multiplexes have entered into agreement, he added.
It plans to reach out to 1000 screen. To make the theatre atmosphere like the stadium, there will be cheer leaders, cinema jockey and celebrities visiting theatre during the intervals, Satam said.
Theatres will have cricket-related merchandises, exciting gifts, multi cuisine food stalls and live bands in some places. The matches begin from 12 March, Satam added.
