New Delhi: The match may have been a narrow win for Delhi Daredevils, keeping their chances of qualifying for the semifinals alive, but it was Amit Mishra’s hat-trick that seized the Chargers from attacking.
The Devils set a target of 194 for Deccan Chargers at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Thursday. Some electrifying but short-lived power play by Hyderabad’s Afridi (33 off 14 balls) and Herschelle Gibbs (22 runs) kept the chase alive, but couldn’t win them the match.
Delhi lad Gautam Gambhir’s sizzling 79 (48 balls, 7 fours, 3 sixes), ensured his team got its highest IPL total. And Amit Mishra, changed the course of the game with his scintillating bowling to pull off the second hat-trick of the IPL.
