Chandrahas Choudhury, a frequent book reviewer for Lounge, Mint’s weekend magazine, recently published his debut novel Arzee the Dwarf. The book, three years in the making, is about a short half-Hindu half-Muslim man who aspires to be the head projectionist of the Noor cinema in India.

The city of Mumbai plays a key role in the book as Arzee sees the world around from his unique perspective: everything around him is large and imposing. As Arzee nurtures his hopes and ambitions in this lop-sided perspective, his dreams slowly begin to come true.
Within weeks of the book’s release Chandrahas Choudhury has received rave reviews from critics. We recently caught up with Chandrahas Choudhury at the Delhi launch of his book. We captured moments of the event where he discussed the book with author Omair Ahmed.
