Mumbai: The Indian squads for the seven-match one day international (ODI) series against England and for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa will be chosen on 7August according to the Cricket Board.
The selectors also have to name the captain for the inaugural Twenty-20 championships as Rahul Dravid, alongwith Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, have pulled out of the tournament.
Dravid, however, would captain the side that is to be picked for the seven ODIs against England from 21August to 8September.
The 15-member squad for the Twenty-20 event, to be held from 11-28September, will be chosen from the list of 30 probables which has been already announced.
There’s a strong possibility of swashbuckling Ranchi wicket keeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni being named to lead the team following his elevation to ODI vice captaincy.
Included among the probables are India discards for the England tour - Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan.
