New Delhi: A spectacular all-round display of batting, bowling and wicket keeping saw Mumbai Indians land their third victory in a row as they demolished Rajasthan Royals with a seven-wicket victory.
The visiting team did not have much of a chance, for they started out with some dismal batting. They quickly caved in and went into a seventh tie, forgetting for a moment the five successive wins behind them. Having to face some fiery bowling by the Mumbai lads, they were skittled out for 103 runs in 16.2 overs.
Not overly concerned with meeting this meagre score, Mumbai Indians got into action overdrive and reached the winning target of 104 at the cost of three wickets in 15.1 overs.
Yogesh Takawale put up an impressive show as wicket keeper cum batsman, claiming four victims behind the stumps. Jayasuriya fell pulling Shane Watson’s long hop into deep square leg’s hands.
Rajasthan Royals seemed disconnected with what was happening on the field and could not put in anywhere close to a good performance. Even the quick fire half-century partnership between Swapnil Asnodkar and Shane Watson could not salvage the game for them.
