Sandip Tarkas, media-buying head at the Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has put in his papers, say senior media buyers. He has worked with media agencies such as MPG, the media arm of Euro RSCG Advertising Pvt. Ltd and MindShare Fulcrum, media brand of Group M Media India Pvt. Ltd. Tarkas was not available for comment.
• I. Venkat, former director of the Eenadu Group, has confirmed he will join an NGO in Andhra Pradesh in the area of health care. Venkat was part of Eenadu’s growth story from a print company to a multi media conglomerate.
• Shashi Kalathil, CEO, Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt. Ltd is moving out of the channel, according to two executives familiar with the development, including one from a large media agency. Kalathil , however, maintains he is on leave and that the information about his leaving Neo Sports is not true.
• Kulvinder Ahluwalia has joined DraftFCB-Ulka as head, key strategic businesses, from the Tata group. Ahluwalia says: “I’m really excited about this opportunity to be back to my first love— advertising. As I have worked with the Tata group extensively in my earlier stint, I look forward to rekindling the old relationship, and using some of Draft-FCB’s proprietary techniques in an attempt to continue creating insightful communication solutions on their business.”
• India Media Exchange (IMX), the consolidated media-buying unit of Starcom MediaVest Group and Zenith Optimedia, has appointed Sujata Dwibedy as director, strategy and buying, Mumbai, and Ritesh Dutt as media director, Delhi.
