San Francisco: Yahoo! Inc. said it will shut down its maps service after eight years, while still using the technology to support other features.
The maps.yahoo.com site will close at the end of June, Amotz Maimon, chief architect at the company, said in a post. Yahoo will still support mapping as part of other services including search and the photo-sharing website Flickr. The company also is paring back or ending support for other sites and services.
