Akshaya Tritya - auspicious period for gold
New Delhi: Akshaya Tritya is an occasion known for bringing communities together. The day is considered auspicious by Hindus and Jains for the purchase of gold, an expression that in some ways is indicative of wealth, beauty and joy.
The festival was more common in the South initially but now it is spreading to the north as well. In Rajasthan, the day is called Aakha Teej and is considered very auspicious for weddings as well.
Akshaya Tritya this year falls on 9 April and heralds boom time for jewellers of every hue and shape. According to estimates, sales around this time cross over 200 tonnes.
MMTC, leading supplier of gold is taking the initiative to cater to the festive occasion. With the intention of giving people “pure and standardized" gold, they have organized a Gold Festival at the MMTC showroom, Jhandewalan Factory Complex, New Delhi and at MMTC Colony, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi from 11th to 20th April. Similar activities would be organized in their outlets in other parts of the country too.
The demand of gold soars at this point with customers making advance “booking" before hand. MMTC has made special plans to provide continuous supply of gold during this season.
