London: BMW has signed up as the latest top-tier domestic sponsor of the 2012 London Olympics.
The German carmaker was unveiled Wednesday as the official automotive sponsor of the games in a deal worth an estimated £40 million ($67 million) in cash and services.
London organizers said BMW will provide about 4,000 vehicles to transport athletes, officials and other members of the Olympic community.
BMW becomes the seventh top-level sponsor and 24th overall of the games.
The deal brings London’s total revenues so far from domestic sponsors to nearly 600 million pounds ($1 billion). The overall target is 700 million pounds ($1.17 billion).
