Goa: The very first edition of the Media ABBY awards at Goafest 2009 were swept by Mindshare, which scored a win of 10 medals consisting of two golds, five silver and three bronze ABBYs. The agency received two gold medals for the best use of Internet and new media. The first gold Abby was won for their work to promote season 2 of the popular television series Heros on Star World. The other was for their campaign ‘Wimbledon Fever in your Inbox’ for HSBC Bank.
Madison Media won two golds. In the best use of radio category, Madison Media Infinity won a gold Abby for their entry Saffola Life ‘Listen to your Heartbeat’ where several radio channels played nothing but the sound of a beating heart as part of the awareness campaign.

Madison was awarded a gold medal for their work for Bharti Airtel. The ‘Airtel: Who is the Big Boss?’ won them the coveted medal in the best use of sponsorship category.
Mudra Max won a gold Abby for their entry for TVS Scooty ‘TVS Scooty Institute’ in the best use of special events and stunts / live advertising. The Scooty Institute allowed women to learn how to ride a Scooty and increased awareness as well as sales for the brand. The same campaign also won a silver Abby in the best use of youth marketing category.

Maxus was awarded one gold ABBY in the best use of television category, for its entry for Tata Sky Plus ‘20 million experiences in 10 seconds’.
A total of 35 Media Abbys were awarded this year.
