Hannover: India’s electronics and IT industry has launched a new export promotion campaign at the world’s largest computer and IT fair CeBIT here by mounting an impressive show of the country’s growing prowess as a leading Asian hub of software development and IT enabled services.
About 40 companies and four state government agencies presented the latest inventions India has to offer in the areas of computer software and services, IT, electronics hardware and telecommunication equipments.
In four Indian national pavilions located in different halls, about 30 small and medium-level entrepreneures presented their products and services under the aegis of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council.
Even though some of the leading Indian names in IT industry were absent at the fair, the country’s participants presented the full spectrum of software development and IT enabled services and provided a unique insight into the high level of sophistication as well as world class technical and managerial skills achieved by the industry.
Their exhibits ranged from telecommunication products, digital equipments, components of computer software, business processes and solutions, IT outsourcing, consultancy and IT enabled services such as system management and maintenance, system integration, e-governance, e-commerce and e-publishing.
Among the IT-enabled services presented were animation work, multimedia, business process outsourcing, call centre related assignments, knowledge process outsourcing, legal process outsourcing, medical lab, diagnostic and dental services, medical transcription services and computer-aided de sign and computer-aided manufacturing services.
