The 64-year-old actor was the show’s topper of designer duo Ashima and Leena on the third day of the Delhi Couture Week.
An elegant Tagore sashayed the ramp while ‘Shukran Allah´, the soulful number from son Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Kurban´, played in the background.
“I had never worn this kind of dress. But Ashima and Leena have convinced me to wear it and I feel I can wear it now and then.
“I really like the colour and when I first saw the garment it looked heavy but when i wore it I found it too light and comfortable to carry,” she said.
Designer Ashima Leena’s collection titled ‘Adaa´ brought the age-old tradition of Awadh and Lucknowi gharana back on the ramp.
Inspired by the clothing style of ‘Zenana´ woman, the collection saw voluminous robes with the rich gleam of jewels shining through delicate odhanis.
“The beautiful colours of the garment brings the feel good factor in us. Moreover the hand embroideries and the silhouettes shows how the country is a treasure of designs. One can wear these kind of clothes during any special occasion,” Tagore said.
