JWT India swept the Effie 2008 Awards for effectiveness in advertising that were announced and presented on Wednesday evening in Mumbai. The agency won the Grand Effie (best work of the show) for the ‘Lead India’ campaign it created for ‘The Times of India’. JWT was also named the Effie Agency of the Year.

The Effie Awards is an international advertising award that was launched in India eight years ago in partnership with the Ad Club Bombay. It recognizes advertising that has succeeded in building brands and increasing sales.
In the overall agency ranking, Ogilvy and Mather came second after JWT. Lowe India was in third position.
