The 55th Cannes Lions Festival is offering 10 award sections, including the newly introduced Design Lions, an extended seminar programme and focused workshops on the subjects of media, production, content and creative.
The festival will take place in Cannes, France, from 15-21 June. Advertiser of the Year will be awarded to Procter and Gamble Co. this year. A.G. Lafley, chairman and CEO, and Jim Stengel, global marketing officer, are expected to jointly accept the award in Cannes.
The Clio is one of the most recognized award competitions for advertising, design, and interactive. The 49th Annual Clio Awards and Festival will be held from 14-17 May, South Beach, Miami. For nearly five decades, the Clio awards have maintained their original commitment to celebrate and reward creative excellence, honouring a powerful form of communication and its impact on modern culture. At the same time, the Clio awards remain focused on evolving with the industry in order to acknowledge the most current, breakthrough work. To this day, Clio’s iconic statuette is the most widely recognized and coveted symbol of the industry’s creative accomplishments. Entries come from categories such as print, radio, billboard, design, interactive etc.
Asia Pacific Advertising Festival
The Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (Adfest) was held from 21-29 March in Pattaya, Thailand. Adfest is an annual regional advertising event that celebrates creativity in the Asia-Pacific region. It is a platform designed to elevate creative standards and promote communication within the advertising and production industry.
Not only does the festival promote and recognize creative excellence in the region, more importantly, it provides a unique learning opportunity for participants to see some of the best work in the region and hear it first-hand from the industry experts. The Adfest awards are open to all organizations and individuals involved in the process of developing advertising materials.
Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards
Scheduled for 3 July, these are the region’s most prestigious awards celebrating resourceful Asian marketing. Now in their sixth year, the awards honour effective marketing campaigns that deliver returns and transformed businesses. The awards cover 19 categories across all marketing disciplines, including advertising, direct marketing, product design, sales promotion, event marketing and interactive marketing.
It is the one of the oldest creative advertising award shows in the Asia-Pacific region and will be held in Bali on 16 and 18 April. Designed to encourage and celebrate creative excellence across all forms of advertising, the Spikes seeks to raise the bar for creative standards in Asia. Building on its 21-year history, the event will incorporate an opening cocktail, a two-day creative conference featuring leading global creative directors, an exhibition of the finalists’ work and two dedicated awards presentations, spread over two nights, to ensure that the region’s best work is fully showcased.
Dubai Lynx 2008
The Dubai International Advertising Festival promotes all forms of advertising communications in West Asia and the north African region. It presents awards across TV/cinema, print, radio, outdoor, interactive and direct media and integrated.
The festival begins today and will end on 2 April, at the Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. An Advertising Person of the Year award will be introduced from this year.
