Shah Rukh and Priyanka unveil Tag Heuer’s latest watch
Worldwide leader in luxury sports watches, the company chose a lazy Sunday afternoon to bring to the capital their latest offering- a new generation electro-mechanical, unisex watch, The ‘Caliber S’.
Shah Rukh Khan wearing a classic business suit was accompanied by Priyanka Chopra attired in an elegant, white dress, both flashing their wrists with “hybrid” electro-mechanical movements which are neither quartz nor automatic.
Endowed with a mechanical movement with the precision of a quartz movement, providing 1/100th of a second chronograph accuracy and readability, the watch is beefed up with no fewer then 230 components and five- high performance bi-directional engines, capable of twice the torque of conventional timepiece engines.
A solid steel folding clasp with buckle, it is curved with a scratch reistant sapphire crystal with double sided anti reflection, specially treated glass to optimize readability, faceted indexes and water resistance of 200 metres.
“It is a watch that any discerning buyer would be happy to own” said Priyanka, in response to which, Shah Rukh cheekily piped in with, “I love this watch too, though I love the white dial Priyanka is wearing, a lot more”.
Also present at the conference was Jean Babin, president and CEO and Manishi Sanwal, the newly elected general manager LVMH Watch and Jewellery.
When quizzed about the price, King Khan, with characteristic candour said, “It’s not the watch but the state of mind that keeps you in track with time.” Insistent on not taking questions on his recent blockbuseter, Om Shanti Om, Khan admitted to being fatigued though, inspite of warding off journalists, he did what he always does - made sure his advertisers got the maximum mileage from his presence.
The event was to be followed by a Polo match at the Jaipur Polo Grounds.
