Mumbai: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit took a turn as a professor, to the surprise of students at a Mumbai film institute, according to a news report on 25 May.

The students at Whistling Woods International institute were thrilled when Dixit delivered a lecture on filmmaking.Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who runs the school, told the paper he was touched when the normally reticent and publicity-shy star came to talk to his students.

The actress, making a comeback in Bollywood with “Aaja Naachley" or “Come Let’s Dance," said young aspirants were lucky to be able to study the craft.

“We never had this kind of school to guide us through, we joined and learned on our own," Ghai quoted Dixit as saying, according to the paper.

Dixit starred in his movie “Ram Lakhan" when she was an upcoming actress in the late 1980s and Ghai said he was proud to see her speak about filmmaking.

“Madhuri made me very proud when she was giving the lecture to the students of my institute on acting and a star’s growth as a person with such a cool understanding of the subject," he said, according to the report.

Dixit, 39, is one of India’s best known actress. She took a break from acting after her marriage to a U.S.-based Indian surgeon in 1999, and later to look after her two young sons.She has returned to Mumbai to film her comeback movie.
