Trai seeks response on broadcast norms
New Delhi: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has asked for responses from various stakeholders on the issues regarding the foreign direct investment limits in the broadcasting sector and the necessary modifications in the uplinking and downlinking guidelines for television channels.
Following the references made by the ministry of information and broadcasting to Trai, the broadcast regulator has sought views from stakeholders such as broadcasters, local cable operators, direct-to-home service operators and consumer advocacy groups.
The last date for submission of views on the issues to Trai is 2 November.
