Mumbai: Print advertising witnessed a growth of 21% during Jan-Sept ’07 compared to the corresponding period in 2005. During that period, top sectors that contributed to the whopping growth include education, services, banking, finance and investment. Another leading category was educational institutions that ushered advertising with a strong 10% share.
Maruti Suzuki Ltd was touted as the biggest advertiser in print during Jan-Sept ’07 beating its second position in the corresponding period in 2006. Ezeego One Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd bagged the award for new advertisers’ category in print.
Print promotion of radio channels registered a colossal growth of 104%, whereas television channels saw a drop of 1% during Jan – Sept’07. Main issues and supplements were used in the ratio of 81:19 while price promotion advertising campaigns were the selected ones.
