BBC will broadcast Delhi Commonwealth Games
London: The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced on Friday that it would show the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi even though security apprehensions persist.
“We’re delighted to have exclusive rights for the UK," BBC sport head of major events Dave Gordon said.
“The Games mark another step for athletes across the world as they prepare for the 2012 Olympics," he added.
Accordingly, the 3-14 October Games will be available in the United Kingdom across TV, radio, online, iPlayer, mobile and new media outlets.
“We have a rich history of covering the Commonwealth Games and are looking forward to bringing the best of the action to the UK public," Gordon said.
There, however, are some security apprehensions and a BBC spokesman said all precautions would be taken for the staff in Delhi.
“We never discuss our security plans in advance, but we will naturally be taking all necessary steps, as we always do, to ensure the safety of all members of the BBC team," he said.
