Perhaps no sport can compete with gymnastics in terms of beauty and grace. Watching the twirling, leaping, vaulting, pirouetting gymnast is a pleasure for spectators and judges alike, and despite India’s negligible presence in the sport, this event will pull in the crowds at the Games.
Gymnastics
Artistic gymnastics is an optional sport for men and women, and has featured in every edition since the event in Auckland in 1990, with 18 countries sending athletes to compete in the Melbourne Games in 2006, which saw Canada winning the most medals in the sport, followed by Australia and England.

Rhythmic gymnastics is an optional sport for women only, first included in the Auckland edition. At the 2006 Melbourne Games, Canada won most of the medals on offer, followed by hosts Australia and England.
