Mumbai: Perspectrum Consultancy, the integrated marketing communications (IMC) wing of Percept Holdings has bagged the prestigious account of Dubai’s Ajmal Group. Ajmal, a premier perfume manufacturer, plans to launch its French line of perfumes, for both men and women, in India by November 2007.
Perspectrum won the account, currently pegged at Rs4 crore, on the basis of strong innovation. Abdulla Ajmal, DGM, Ajmal Group, said, “Perspectrum has scored high on the innovative ideas in our final review — and this would be a key area to work on even in the future.”
Debashis Das, CEO, Perspectrum, adds, “What got us through is our understanding of a very challenging category and our capabilities in generating innovative ideas that were both unique and relevant and highly sustainable in the long run.”
The Ajmal Group is planning to launch seven brands in India (Delhi and Mumbai) by November 2007. It plans to sell 1,00,000 units in its first year of operations in the country, although it is still to finalize the list of brands that will be launched in India. Unlike its international strategy of selling its brands through self-owned outlets, Ajmal will market its perfume in India through departmental stores.
In the near future, Ajmal also plans to sell its deodorants in India
