Dominic Proctor, this year’s media jury president and CEO worldwide of MindShare, is quoted as saying in the Cannes Daily News (CDN): “When you have no money, you have to think. The best work is very, very good but there is a surprising amount of work that is suboptimal.”

Global creative guru Bob Isherwood is quoted as saying that the ad business is going to see more creative collaboration and technology is the means by which to express creativity. “The line between what is real and what is not is completely blurred now if you consider what special effects in movies can do. We have more ability to express ourselves creatively than we have ever had before.”

American singer Tony Bennett was the headline act at Grey New York’s second annual music seminar, on Wednesday. Tim Mellors, Grey’s global creative chief and a multiple Cannes Lion winner told CDN: “No living popular singer has the pedigree, panache and experience of Tony Bennett, or the shrewd and informed insight into how music is marketed and made.’’
