NEW DELHI: With an aim to popularizing and increasing the circulation of the Limca Book of Records, its publisher Coca-Cola India will come out with the Hindi version of the book next year. It is currently published in English only and has a circulation of about 50,000 copies peryear.
“We will start publishing the Limca Book of Records in Hindi from next year, which will be followed by other regional languages soon after,” Coca-Cola India President and CEO Atul Singh said at the launch of the 2007 edition of the book.
“To start with, we will come out with a few hundred copies of the Hindi version and depending on the response, will increase the numbers,” Limca Book of Records Editor Vijaya Ghose said.
The 2007 edition of the book includes 21 chapters with ‘Photography´ as the new addition. Also, the new edition will have a chapter on ‘People of the Year´ which will include the name of bollywood musician A R Rahman and tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi with three others for achieving excellence in their respective fields.
The 2007 edition also includes the name of Ranbaxy, Raymond Ltd, State Bank of India and Mobile Creches for the strides they have made in their areas of expertise.
Future plans include expanding the current chapter on “Nature” to “Nature and Environment” in the next edition, Singh said.
