Indian delegation at world’s largest a/v event in Cannes

New Delhi: Industry body Ficci today said it is mounting a 70-member delegation to Cannes, France to participate in the largest audio-visual trade fair ‘MIDCOM´ to be held from October 8 till 12.
The delegation is being led by Sony Entertainment Television, India, CEO Kunal Dasgupta.
“Revenues from Indian TV industry are expected to grow from $4.8 billion to $11 billion by 2011 and quality content would continue to be the crucial driver of the development of media in India,” Ficci general secretary Amit Mitra said in a statement.
MIDCOM is the largest international audio-visual event which provides an opportunity to television and film producers, broadcasters, distributors and content providers to trade and share new practices.
October 8 has been designated as ‘India day´ and would be dedicated to the India-centric programmes and workshops.
