New Delhi: Despite making an impact on television audiences with its new reality show, ‘Sach Ka Saamna,’ Star Plus could not retain its top position in the Hindi general entertainment genre and lost it to Colors, which turned one on Wednesday.

According to television audience research agency TAM Media Research, in the week ended 18 July, Colors regained the top slot with 308 gross rating points, or GRPs, against 284 GRPs in the previous week.
GRPs are the sum total of television rating points, or TRPs, over a given period of time. TRPs denote the total percentage of viewers watching a particular programme at a given time.
‘Sach Ka Saamna’, the new reality show on Star Plus, however, helped the channel retain the No. 2 position, which was occupied by Zee TV two weeks ago. Star Plus and Zee TV grossed 293 GRPs and 266 GRPs, respectively, in the week in question. ‘Sach Ka Saamna’ had a viewership share of 4.3% In the previous week, Star Plus had grossed 287 GRPs against Zee TV’s 259 GRPs.
Multi Screen Media Ltd’s Sony Entertainment Television’s new reality show ‘Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao’ helped the channel get an edge over NDTV Imagine, which is currently running another reality show ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’. The two channels had 142 and 138 GRPs, respectively.
