Mumbai: Investment bank Lehman Brothers has appointed former Citi banker Pankaj Vaish to head its equity and fixed income businesses in India.
Vaish, who was responsible for equities and derivatives trading in Citigroup New York, would be a managing director in Lehman India.
He will report to local chairman and chief executive Tarun Jotwani and Hyung Lee, head of Lehman’s Asia equities and fixed income, Lehman said in a statement.
Vaish was earlier a hedge fund manager with New York-based Vega Asset Management and had founded a macro hedge fund, P V Capital Management.
Lehman is among many global banks like Goldman Sachs that are expanding operations in the fast growing Indian securities market where fund raisings and takeovers are booming.
