Chandigarh: Punjab-based apparel maker Duke Fashions (India) plans to venture into kids’ apparel segment from next summer and also targets Rs500 crore turnover within the next three years from both domestic and international markets.
Initially Duke Fashions, which is known for its knitted t-shirts for men and has a presence in women’s wear as well, intends to launch kids wear under ‘Duke kids´ brand for summer season.
“By foraying into kids’ wear segment, the company will be in a position to offer garments for the entire family at one shop,” Duke Fashions chairman Komal Jain said here, while adding that the company would be importing garment manufacturing machines especially for the kids wear project.
Meanwhile, the company which posted revenues at Rs250 crore last year, has set a target to generate a turnover of Rs500 crore in the next three years.
“By the end of this fiscal, we will have turnover of Rs300 crore and in next couple of years, we plan to touch the mark of Rs500 crore,” Jain said.
On expanding its operations in domestic market, the firm plans to open 25 exclusive outlets this year. “We will like to open our new stores in Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to cater to these markets,” he said.
Presently, Duke Fashions has 75 outlets across India.
On export front, the company continues to maintain its focus on its key markets such as the US, Dubai, Sri Lanka and other Middle East countries.
The export of the company, which handles sizable orders from Walmart and GAP, constitutes over 50% of its total turnover.
