Joe Biden sworn in as US vice president
Washington: Former Delaware Sen. Joe Biden was sworn in on Tuesday as Barack Obama’s vice-president, cheered on by hundreds of thousands of people who gathered near the Capitol for the inauguration of the first black US president.
Associate Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens administered the oath of office to Biden, 66, just minutes before Barack Hussein Obama was to be sworn in as the nation’s 44th president.
Biden will bring his experience to the team of incoming president Barack Obama.
