New Delhi: Amid the Nandigram controversy, West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and has urged the Centre to frame a comprehensive policy on SEZs. Bhattacharjee was accompanied by CPI-M politburo member Sitaram Yechury during his 30-minute meeting on Saturday. There was no official comment on the issues discussed. Meanwhile, back in his home state, the question on everyone’s lips is whether ‘Brand Buddha’ or the industrialization drive would take a serious beating. But politicians and industrialists are upbeat. “If the investors find that setting up units in the state is profitable, they will come,” Manju Kumar Majumder, secretary, CPI state council, said.
