Chennai: Two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company Ltd reported on Wednesday that a fire had broken out on July 29 in its paint shop facility in Hosur, its largest manufacturing facility.
“The plant that suffered damage has been adequately insured. Production is not expected to be disrupted, in view of the availability of spare capacity,” said the company in a statement to BSE.
In a separate statement, the company also said that an accidental fire broke out at 5.00am at TVS Motor Company’s Plant I at the factory premises in Hosur in which mopeds are manufactured. The fire was brought under control and no one sustained any injuries. The Hosur plant, which rolls out the mopeds,TVS Wego, TVS Star City, TVS Sport and a few other export models, is being assessed for the extent of damage and possibility of restoring the damaged unit to normalcy as early as possible.
