Obama arrives at the Capitol for swearing-in
Washington: Barack Obama arrived at the Capitol Hill along with the outgoing President George W. Bush, for the historic swearing-in ceremony.
Earlier, Bush and Obama had coffee together at the White House along with the incoming and outgoing First Lady, the Vice President-elect, Joe Biden and members of Joint Congressional Committee.
The 47-year-old incoming President started the day with a church service in the morning at St. John’s Episcopal Church. From here they headed towards the White House.
Hundreds of thousands of people have gathered at the National Mall to participate in the inaugural celebration.
They lined up before the metro - taking them towards the mall - and the security check points hours before dawn. It was a chilly weather, but few hours before the inauguration, it turned into a sunny day.
