Echoes of the Nomad Fall-Winter 2007
23 November-2 December
Cinnamon presents a preview of ‘Echoes of the Nomad Fall Winter 2007’ collection by Sanskar. Conceptualized by Sonam Dubal, the collection is a travelogue that seeks to capture a feel of the world from Asia to Africa, where the mountains turn into sand and colours move from light beige creme tones to dark camel and browns, all the while contrasting with black and burgundy. Influences are taken from Uzbekistan, Samarkand, Tibet and North Africa. The textile story of these regions uses woven stripes, hand-embroidered nature inspired motifs, and dyes in interesting colour combinations that have always played a major part in the fabric of these regions. Coats are the traditional garment of the people there. 11am onward. Cinnamon, 11, Walton Road (2229794).
