BackToyota Kirloskar announces top management reshuffle
The changes are part of efforts to strengthen the organization and enhance its speed of decision-making

New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd on Wednesday said it had appointed Shekar Viswanathan as vice-chairman for external affairs and Sandeep Singh as chief operating officer in a management reshuffle as the auto maker prepares for expanding in the country.
The changes are effective 1 January.
Viswanathan was handling Toyota Kirloskar’s commercial operations as a deputy managing director (DMD). After the change, Singh will continue in his role as deputy managing director in charge of sales and marketing while also overseeing commercial operations.
The changes are part of efforts to strengthen the organization and enhance its speed of decision-making, Toyota Kirloskar said in a statement.
“As we expand our operations in India, we need our team to take up new roles and responsibilities," said Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director and chief executive of Toyota Kirloskar, a joint venture between India’s Kirloskar Group and Japan’s Toyota Motor Corp.
The firm that makes cars such as Corolla and Etios also promoted two deputy managing directors from Japan. Masanori Takahashi, DMD (technical and purchase), has also been given additional responsibility as chief operating officer and will be handling vendor development. Shigeru Tomonaga, DMD (manufacturing), will be an executive adviser to the company’s board of directors and chief of its supplier support centre.
