SBI pays `1,456 crore advance tax in Q4
The bank had paid `1,450 crore in the same quarter last year
Mumbai: The country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) on Tuesday said it has paid an advance tax of ₹ 1,456 crore for the fourth quarter (Q4) of fiscal year 2014.
The bank had paid ₹ 1,450 crore in the same quarter last year.
The deadline for payment of advance tax for the fourth and final quarter of the year is 18 March. The deadline was extended due to Holi, a holiday, on Monday.
Shares of SBI closed 2.72% higher at ₹ 1,698.40 apiece on BSE on Tuesday, while the benchmark index, or Sensex, gained 0.10%, or 22.81 points, to 21,832.61.
